Edward Bailey died from wounds on 6th May, 1915, after having been brought back to the United Kingdom but as yet, there is no information, as to when and where he was wounded. The 4th Rifle Brigade battalion were part of 80 Brigade, 27th Division that had arrived in France in December 1914 and had then been holding the line in Belgium and had seen action during the Second Battle of Ypres in April, 1915.
